Writing and Book Selling Update

The eBook give-a-way 2 weeks ago went pretty well. I am still waiting and hoping for the time when I will have enough followers to give away hundreds instead of dozens of books, but that time will come - hopefully.

Spring Time Garden Time

With the nice weather, it is time to get out in the garden

Writing

I am hard at work on the third book in my Blade Holmes western mystery series. The weather has turned spring-like and we have enjoyed some outside time, seems that spring always rejuvenates my writing juices, and that's a good thing.

I have a new Facebook Author Page up and running - check it out here..

Get out and enjoy the weather, and read a good book this week.

My New Book is Out

It has been nearly a month since I posted here that my new book was finished. Now it is published.

On Turning 70 – My newest book and my shortest one is out. It is a story of reflection on turning 70 years of age. The book is not only reflective but full of humor and nostalgia. If you are getting, as we used to hear, “up there in years,” give it a try, it’s a quick hour or hour and a half read. This one, like all of my books, is available in soft cover or as an eBook. Here is the link to the $1.99 eBook.

Spreading the News

I had a wonderful time talking to the Laramie County Historical Society Sunday, always great to get together with other lovers of history.

Book Seven Almost For Sale

This morning I got the proof copies of the newest of my kid’s novels, my seventh book overall. This one is book three in the series and is titled, Yikes – My Neighbor’s A Vampire.

The book looked good, and formatting was spot on. My wife, as always is my first reader when the proof copies come. Others will also read, one maybe two people, but my wife reads the stories first. She is a terrific first reader as we have been married long enough that she will tell me the truth about what doesn’t work, and what she does not like.

The problem – she found something she didn’t like. Each chapter has a picture on the first page, Jan didn’t like where I put some of them. In my first two books the pictures told a bit of the story to follow, but in this one, I put a few after the story on the heading for the next chapter. I thought it was clever and creative, she didn’t think so, now looking at it, she’s right. Darn it!

Looks like I will be spending some time moving pictures around, along with the usual fixing of things my readers find. Oh well, that’s what readers are for.

Work – work – work, a writer’s job is seldom never done.

Books and More Books

Merry Christmas, I hope all of you are well and enjoying the season.

I have a new book scheduled for early February release, but it may be delayed as I might let someone else publish this one. It will still be available on my sites, just published elsewhere.

On another note, I am now looking at three or four books from other writers to publish through my Old Trails Publishing site in the next year. I will only look at kids chapter books, westerns and historical nonfiction, but if you are interested, let me know. I am going to try to do one every quarter. If I think it is a worthy project we will take it on. Just so you know, this is not some scam, no cost, none, to the writer.  We will edit and format for Amazon and other outlets then publish in both softcover and as an eBook. Authors will be required to submit cover art and back cover text.

More on this later - right now time to enjoy kids and grandkids.

Commitment - the novel

My historical mystery western, Commitment, set in and around Fort Laramie, is now available as a book or eBook.
It took a few extra weeks, but I am pretty happy with the final. I had to make some changes on the cover and in the authors notes in the back plus I wanted to shorten it a bit, the soft cover is 350 pages, now all is well. Order it today as a soft cover book or eBook.

I am now at the editing stage for my book of Christmas shorts, still hoping for November first release.
